Realizing Strength During the Reign of W Friday, May 16 - Sunday, May 18, 2003 Saturday morning will be devoted to building connections and brainstorming ways to truly coordinate with and support each other. Just before lunch we'll thank Mary Loehr for her years of service and welcome the new coordinator. An afternoon panel will address "War Tax Resistance during the Reign of W," covering such topics as: Patriot Act and wtr; Marginalization of wtr within peace movement; Symbolic resistance as a strategy for mass movement; Degrees of resistance; Wtr as tool to educate about the US budget and create social change. Saturday evening will be a concert open to the public, featuring, among others, Faith Petric, longtime activist and folksinger, who at 87 is still going strong! | War Taxes Redirected to Health Care |

A grant of $200 was given to the Southwest Community Health Center which provides primary care to the underserved in Southwest Santa Rosa and runs the clinic at Elsie Allen High School. The new Jewish Community Free Clinic in Cotati received $200 to help provide free medical care to all those in need in the Cotati area. A third grant of $50 went to the Free Pacifica Legal Action Fund, working to preserve the KPFA airwaves for the community.
